Porter writes in thanks for a recent visit she made -- only at Berry could she find the love and kindness she needed in a time of trial. She provides details of the visit, and also reports that she is spending some time with Bessie McGinness, who is nursing at Agnes Scott.

Martha Berry writes to Mrs. Wright about the trip that she had taken from Miami to Rome and that her mother is getting along just fine and that she enjoyed having Miss Beverly with her. She also asks Mrs. Wright to let her know about the pour stone so she can tell the Skinners. Miss Berry says that her mother is thinking about going to Mentone this summer even though Miss Beverly advises she go nowhere without a good nurse. Miss Berry also states that John Ledbetter of Cloudland died the night before. She says she feels she needs to go on a trip in the interest of the schools to work on replacing the burned dormitories.

In this letter Martha Berry tells Mrs. Bonneyman that she will not be able to attend French Lick because she just got back from a ten day motor trip in Florida. She says that Miss Beverly stayed with her mom while she was away. She finishes by saying that there was a dormitory fire that made seventy five boys homeless.
