Wingo lets Berry know that Mrs. Hammond has mailed photographs of the Emily Cottage Pilgrims and the girls who took care of them. Wingo will be at Montreat all summer.

Winchester writes to arrange a visit to Berry at the same time the Pilgrims are there.

Berry suggests that Winchester not come to Berry at the same time as the New York group, as she will not be able to spend enough time with her.

Martha Berry thanks Dr. Williams for his $300 gift and discusses the piano she is about to buy.

Vaughn reports on Mrs. Ladd's interest in Lemley Hall, including her desire to purchase furniture for the living room.

Miss Berry expresses her gladness that Mrs. Trowbridge visited Berry. She explains that Pilgrim Hall is underway and the boys are very excited. She adds a note that Baby Ball and Frances are delighted with the blanket Mrs. Trowbridge brought.

Berry thanks Myers for helping with information for the Bible department and for the book on Japan he sent.

William Starr Myers informs Berry that he has referred her question to Rev. Dr. Charles R. Erdman, who he hopes has been in touch with her. He encloses a copy of a book on Japan written by one of his students, and provides news of visitors and family.

Martha Berry tells Ladd about the visit by the Pilgrims and the gift commitments they made. Berry says that the boys are delighted with the photograph Ladd sent of herself for Lemley Hall, but that she is jealous and wants one for herself.

Martha Berry thanks recipient for help in fundraising and asks for more addresses, as well as announcing the season for visitors is approaching.

Augusta Hope describes to Miss Berry the first time Dr. Norwood discussed the schools at the Berry Pilgrims meeting at Mrs. Hammond's house. Hope mentions the Gates of Opportunity Miss Berry opened for "the rich and to the poor" and for "the high and to the low".

Emily Hammond asks if Inez could speak, but if there is a chance of Berry speaking she would prefer to postpone the meeting. She also offers her condolences for the fire and sends New Years good wishes.
