What's Next
Imaging is Ongoing:
- Expect the collection to increase in scope and size between April 2013 and May 2014 as we continue to scan and add new documents.
Usability Enhancements:
- Improved search and sort for tags
- Index of authors and recipients (with cross-references)
- Additional geolocation functionality
Transcription, Editing, Story Mapping:
- In addition to creating access to even more of the Martha Berry Collection, MBDA is in the preliminary stages of research for a TEI-conformant edition of select correspondence from the collection.
- Pending funding, our first project will entail a diplomatic edition of correspondence between Emily Vanderbilt Hammond and Martha Berry, two women whose lives and works shaped early twentieth-century education and politics, yet who remain largely unstudied.
- We are also experimenting with Neatline and look forward to developing story maps to represent spatially/geographically relationships between documents in the collection.
